10D9N Spring Japan Trip: Hello, Odaiba

Stepping our feet on a man-made island has become one of our things to do in Tokyo. And that's why we decided to visit Odaiba when we visited Tokyo last year. One way ticket to Odaiba from Tokyo costs you 320 Japanese Yen. The ticket is expensive as you have to specifically ride the Yurikamome (i.e. an automated, elevated train with rubber tires) which connects Shimbashi Station on the Yamanote Line to Daiba Station.

When you are riding the Yurikamome, I suggest you to stand pretty near to the window. This is because the view from the window is fantastic, especially when the weather is good.

Even though the cost of coming to Odaiba is pretty pricey, you can make the most out of it as there are so many interesting things to do in Odaiba. For a start, you may want to immediately go to the waterfront area as this may be the most visited area in Odaiba by tour groups.

From the waterfront, you can see clear view of Rainbow Bridge. The bridge is illuminated at night with rainbow color. However, during the day, it is just a white bridge. If you have more time to spend in Odaiba, I suggest you visit Rainbow Bridge at night time for a better view.

Apparently, Odaiba seems pretty interesting in night time because it also has Odaiba Illumination. I guess the entertainments at night will be most appreciated by visitors who stay at hotels in Odaiba

If you are thinking of staying at Odaiba, you may want to stay at Hotel Nikko Tokyo Odaiba because so far I think it has the best location in Odaiba as it is located pretty near to all the main attractions here.

One good way to take a good look at the view of Tokyo Bay and Odaiba is by riding the 115 meters tall ferris wheel. There are all-glass cabins available and one complete ferris wheel ride takes approximately 15 minutes.  It opens from 10AM to 10PM (11PM on most Fridays and Saturdays).
