10D9N Spring Japan Trip: Osaka Castle and Hideyoshi Toyotomi

If you enjoy walking, Osaka Castle grounds provide a nice walking path from Osaka Castle Park to the castle. A lot of people, young and old, tourists and locals alike enjoyed an afternoon walk the where we came.

10D9N Spring Japan Trip: Osaka Castle and Hideyoshi Toyotomi

We passed by a building with the light green roof. It looks kinda like a government building although we did not really come nearer to check it out.

A few steps further, we saw a statue of samurai. This is the statue of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, the warlord who built Osaka Castle. The construction commenced on the former site of the Ishiyama Honganji temple, which had been lost to fire three years earlier in a war with Oda Nobunaga who was Hideyoshi's former commander and one of the great medieval warlords. If you play Samurai Warrior on your ol' PS2 before, you will be so familiar with this story, really. Oh gosh, I miss my younger days when I am happily playing my PS2 during school holiday.

Right behind the statue of Hideyoshi Toyotomi, there is a big cherry blossom tree but it is white in color.

Closer look at the blooming cherry blossom flower.

We could not have enough of the cherry blossom notwithstanding that they have not fully bloomed yet. It took us nearly 20 minutes to take picture of the white sakura tree alone. Hahaha.

Right, we better make a move soon if we wanted to make it to our destination, Osaka Castle.
