13D12N Australia Trip: Queen's Victoria Building, Sydney

Whenever we are talking about historical architecture in Sydney, ones simply cannot miss out visiting Queen's Victoria Building right in the middle of downtown Sydney. Located right at the exit of Town Hall subway station, going to Queen's Victoria Building, or also simply referred to as "QVB", is a breeze.

You know you are at the right place when you see the queen herself sitting comfortably in front of the building with the shining sun behind her back.

The architecture inside QVB is simply gorgeous. The grand building was built in the 1890s and it was restored and re-opened in 1986 to the beautiful condition it is now. QVB has now become the most popular and prestigious shopping centre in Sydney.

You can tell that on a weekday afternoon, the higher percentage of people inside QVB are tourists. Well, we can't help being amazed with this grand building, can we?

QVB is huge and it has over 180 of Sydney's finest fashion boutiques, jewellery and accessories shops, cafes (including that famous cake boutique shop owned by Adriano Zumbo) and restaurants.

When you visit QVB, make sure to climb up to the highest level and go closer to the center of the shopping center to get a closer look at what seems to be a normal-looking antique clock.

The clock moves in a circular motion and it seems to show a story about a great expedition (probably based on Australian's history?). The clock also shows the current day and the date. I don't know about you but this random stuff is kinda getting me pretty excited.

QVB opens from 9AM to 6PM from Monday to Saturday (with exception of Thursday, it ends at 9PM). It opens from 11AM to 5PM on Sunday.
